Europe is not ready for this youngster Manchester United unveiled

Manchester United will be targeting a first victory of their pre-season tour of the United States when they face Real Betis at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, with kick-off 3am BST.

Now more than halfway through their pre-season campaign, United will continue to step up their preparations against Manuel Pellegrini’s side. The Reds face Manchester City in their first competitive game of the season in just over a week’s time, taking them on at Wembley in the Community Shield.

United, ahead of flying back to the UK, will also face Liverpool this weekend, and that encounter will mark their final outing of pre-season, meaning the countdown to the start of the campaign is almost over. Manager Erik ten Hag is expected to hand out minutes to as many players as possible once again.

HALF-TIME: MUN 3-1 BET – Reds in control

The half-time whistle is blown at the Snapdragon Stadium and United lead 3-1 at the break.

40′ – MUN 3-1 BET – Good performances all over the pitch

United have eased off a tad since they went 3-1 up but they have had an excellent half, bar that error for the Betis goal. Realistically, most of the starters will be in the squad next season and could easily be squad assets. Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen possess game-changing prowess, Harry Amass must be the next academy graduate in line for a debut and Jadon Sancho is applying himself professionally. (Image: 2024 Manchester United FC)

32′ – MUN 3-1 BET – United have been excellent

United’s starting XI is teeming with players who could or should be sold yet they have played excellently. They have created chances at will, the link-up play has been effortless and the scoreline possibly flatters Betis.

There is only one intense team out there and that is the caveat. Betis are going through the motions and were gifted their goal. But there are plenty of positives for United. Amad, Harry Amass, Casemiro and Marcus Rashford have been particularly good.(Image: 2024 Manchester United FC)

31′ – MUN 3-1 BET – GOAL UNITED! (Casemiro)

United have another one and this time it is Casemiro’s turn to celebrate. A corner from the right is flicked on by Jadon Sancho, the ball lands at Marcus Rashford’s feet and he squares it to Casemiro, who swivles and fires the past the ‘keeper from close-range. United have been very good.

26′ – MUN 2-1 BET – Amad is running the show

That was similar to Amad’s goal against Newcastle. When the ball fell to him, that was only going one place and he arrowed it in.

Terrific play also by Harry Amass, who had an encouraging half against Arsenal in LA last week. But this pre-season is being dominated by Amad.

24′ – MUN 2-1 BET – GOAL UNITED! (Amad)

What a hit that is! Harry Amass gets a slice of fortune down the left, drives forward, fizzes in an excellent cross that eventually finds Amad, who blasts it home with a real sense of conviction. That was terrific. He is on fire.

23′ – MUN 1-1 BET – Eriksen tests the goalkeeper

United get a free-kick around 25 yards from goal and Christian Eriksen takes aim. It is well-struck, but it was a comfortable save for Rui Silva.
