Arsenal predicted XI vs Manchester City as Odegaard replacement emerges and Partey decision made

It was always going to be a tough week for Arsenal. The Gunners saw off Tottenham in gritty fashion last Sunday before securing an underwhelming, but professional 0-0 draw with Atalanta. Now, though, comes their biggest test.

Mikel Arteta’s side travel to Manchester City in a game that could well impact the outcome of this season’s Premier League title. They have some questions to answer in the process.

Martin Odegaard faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and in both matches since the Norwegian was ruled out Arsenal have struggled to gain any dominance of the ball. Now against arguably the best possession team on the planet they must find a way.

Goalkeeper – David Raya

Raya went one better than his superb stop at Aston Villa with a superb double save in Bergamo on Thursday night. The Spaniard is in great form and will want to be at his best at the Etihad.

Right back – Ben White

Arsenal's English defender #04 Ben White, Atalanta's Nigerian forward #11 Ademola Lookman and Arsenal's French defender #02 William Saliba go for a header during the UEFA Champions League 1st round day 1 football match between Atalanta Bergamo and Arsenal at the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia stadium
After a slightly below par game against Spurs, Ben White was back at his usual level against Atalanta. He’ll be hopeful of playing even better in Manchester.Centre back – William SalibaArsenal defender William Saliba. The Frenchman produced an impressive display in Bergamo. If Arsenal win at City he will need a big performance.Centre back – GabrielArsenal players celebrate during the victory over TottenhamGabriel is in superb form at the minute and kept that up against Atalanta. He’ll be relishing another battle with Erling Haaland.Left back – Jurrien TimberArsenal star Jurrien Timber and Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo VicarioIn an ideal world Timber wouldn’t have needed to start three games in a row not that long after coming back from his ACL injury. Expect him to do just that though after locking down that left back spot so far this season.
