Architecture News 2024: Crisis vs. Crisis – Soxma

Another edition of the Architecture Matters conference will take place on May 15-16 in Munich, Germany, bringing together architects, city officials, developers, and other professionals who care about the built environment (you can read our report on edition 20223). In the current situation, a meeting is called “Problems vs. Problems”to reflect on how the pressing and interconnected challenges of housing, climate and environmental issues need to be addressed in order to achieve positive outcomes, and to prevent another disaster. 

Hosted in the Conference Room, recently renovated by HENN, the conference begins with a thought-provoking speech by Linus Neumann, president and spokesperson of the Chaos Computer Club, on the state of Cybersecurity and Infrastructure. Among the speakers this year we find Odile Decq (Studio Odile Decq), Anupama Kundoo (Anupama Kundoo Architects), Kåre Stokholm Poulsgaard, (3XN – GXN), Elisabeth Merk (Architect of the City of Munich), among others , including a special report on the photographs of Beirut by Sergey Pomonarev, and how the current crisis is visible in the built environment.
