Argentina vs Canada LIVE, latest updates from the opening match of the 2024 Copa America
Given that there’s no qualification for the Copa America, all South American nations will feature in this year’s tournament, per usual. But with the tournament being held in the United States, six CONCACAF teams join the fray in 2024.
The USMNT, Mexico, Jamaica and Panama all qualified through the CONCACAF Nations League. They were followed by Canada and Costa Rica, who won their play-in round matchups.
Argentina are the favorites to win the tournament given their track record over the last three years, as well as them being the defending South American champions. Lionel Messi and Lionel Scaloni‘s team conquered the 2022 FIFA World Cup after capturing the Copa America in 2021.
Canada is led by Jesse Marsch, the American manager who took over the national team in May of this year.

There are four groups in this year’s tournament. The group stage will be followed by the knockout stage, which will begin with the quarter-finals.
