‘Tremendous’ £34m player has just decided he wants to leave Arsenal
One player could be on his way out this summer, and his old club are trying to re-sign him.
Fabio Vieira wants to leave Arsenal for one reason
Arsenal signed Fabio Vieria from Porto in 2022 for an initial £30M plus extra £4M in potential add-ons.
The Portuguese midfielder is incredibly talented. He’s brilliant on the ball, has fantastic vision and can score goals and create chances. He’s so good that Cedric Soares his compared to Bernardo Silva of Manchester City
However, Vieira struggled to adapt to the physicality of the Premier League in his debut season. In the following campaign, just when it looked like he was gaining a bit of momentum, he had to undergo surgery to rectify an injury.
That limited Vieira to just over 450 minutes of football in all competitions in the 2023/24 season. He is nowhere near the top of Arteta’s pecking order. The report claims that his old side, Porto, are dreaming of re-signing Vieira, but the only way they can get him is if Arsenal agree to a loan deal with an obligation to buy clause inserted in it
Arteta made a promise about Vieira that could now be broken
Arteta really believed in Vieira’s potential when he signed for Arsenal.
On paper, the Portuguese midfielder possesses all the qualities you would want from an attacking midfielder. His versatility makes him even more attractive.
Arteta had so much faith in Vieria that he publicly promised that Arsenal will get the best out of him very soon. Now, that promise could be broken.
Reports have emerged that Arteta is unimpressed with Vieria in training and could now sell him in this summer’s transfer window
